The town is known primarily for the castle of the Lubomirscy family which is said to be one of Europe’s beautiful mansions. The castle was built in the middle of the 16th century. About 50 years later the building was expanded and its elegant interior was often discussed among european noblemen. Luckily the castle was not destroyed during the second world war, as it was used as Wehrmacht’s office.
